The group of friends, consisting of 5 people, started the event in 2006.
The Origins of Santafest
Santafest was born out of a desire to create a unique and enjoyable holiday experience. The founders, a group of friends who met while attending college, wanted to combine their love of music, food, and community to create a festive atmosphere. They drew inspiration from various holiday celebrations and traditions, blending them into a one-of-a-kind event.
Early Years
In its early years, Santafest was a small, intimate gathering. The founders would host the event in a local park, inviting friends and family to join in on the fun. The event featured live music, delicious food, and games, all centered around the theme of Christmas and the holiday season. The founders would often spend weeks preparing for the event, decorating the park, cooking meals, and setting up games and activities. The event was free and open to the public, with donations accepted to help cover costs.
The Origins of the SCPC
The SCPC was founded by a group of friends who were concerned about the negative impact of excessive drinking on social interactions. They wanted to create a space where people could socialise without the pressure of drinking.
