Born in Tirana, Albania in 1991, Kristo’s life took a dramatic turn when his family fled their homeland as political refugees, settling in Boston when he was just five years old. This early experience of displacement and adaptation would shape his future endeavors, including his passion for music.

Growing up in a new country, Kristo was exposed to a diverse range of musical styles, from traditional Albanian folk to classical and jazz. His parents, who had also fled Albania, encouraged his interest in music, providing him with access to instruments and music education. Kristo’s early musical influences were diverse, but he was particularly drawn to the works of Albanian composer and pianist, Fani Zokshi. Some of Kristo’s earliest musical memories include listening to Fani Zokshi’s compositions and watching Albanian folk dance performances. He also spent hours practicing piano and learning traditional Albanian songs.*
